According to the Bank of Ghana’s Summary of Economic and Financial Data for July 2025, the total value of mobile money transactions in Ghana reached GHC 323.2 billion as of June 2025, representing a 10.2% decline from the previous month’s figure of GHC 360 billion.
However, on an annual basis, the value of mobile money transactions exhibited a significant growth of 44.3%, from GHC 224 billion to GHC 323.2 billion, highlighting continued expansion in digital financial activity.
The number of mobile money transactions fell slightly in June, with 735 million transactions recorded, down from 796 million in May, marking a 7.7% drop in transaction volume month-on-month.
Despite this decline, transaction numbers remain well above levels from a year ago, with a 14.1% year-on-year growth in transaction volume, from 644 million in June 2024.
Furthermore, registered mobile money accounts reached 76.4 million, with 24.5 million active users in June, and the float balance increased to GHC 28.9 billion.
