Frank Asiedu Bekoe, also known as Protozoa, the Member of Parliament for the Suhum constituency, has openly criticised the Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kurt Okraku.
The MP’s comments were in response to a proposed constitutional amendment that would extend the GFA President’s term from two to three terms.
During an appearance on Rainbow Radio’s Frontline with host Kwabena Agyapong, Bekoe questioned Okraku’s motives, suggesting he was clinging to power.
“Are Kurt Okraku and his group the only wise people in Ghana?” the MP asked, challenging the notion that there are no other competent individuals to lead the association.
Bekoe argued that with a population of over 34 million people, it’s impossible that Okraku is the only suitable candidate.
He urged the GFA President to “walk away” after his second term and “allow new people with fresh ideas and new blood to take over,” criticizing what he described as an obsession with power.
