Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Ghana’s former Vice President, has stated that his extensive experience renders him “the most prepared candidate for the NPP, and for President in 2028.”
According to him, his vision is to expand Ghana’s economy through innovative ideas.
He promised to introduce measures that will enhance the living conditions of Ghanaians.
Dr Bawumia disclosed this when he officially filed his nomination to contest the primary today, Thursday, August 28, 2025.
He stressed that these goals would be anchored on a strong, disciplined, and united NPP.
“My vision is to expand the Ghanaian economy through bold ideas such as a flat tax system for individuals, corporations, and imports, while creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive and accelerate job creation,” Dr. Bawumia said.
He added: “My vision is to introduce measures that reduce the cost of living for the average Ghanaian and provide stronger support for the vulnerable. I will adopt a constituency-based development and budgeting framework to ensure that local people benefit the most and individual well-being is enhanced.”
“My vision is for a modern digitalized economy that offers equal opportunities to all—including women, the physically challenged, and the grassroots—not just the rich.”
“My vision is for a fair and accessible credit system, similar to advanced economies. My vision is to energize domestic production and job creation, dedicating 3% of GDP expenditure currently undertaken by the public sector to the private sector, with procurement made locally.”
