The Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) UK Chapter, Kingsley Adumattah Agyapong, widely known as Wofa K, has publicly challenged Kwame Baffoe, also known as Abronye DC, to substantiate his allegations of corruption and wrongdoing. Agyapong described the claims as “malicious, false, and without merit,” urging Abronye DC to release any evidence he possesses instead of “ranting.”
Abronye DC had previously accused Wofa K of lacking integrity and mismanaging campaign funds, specifically alleging that Agyapong had misappropriated GHC 400,000 intended for party activities. He also claimed to have personally sponsored Agyapong’s travel expenses.
In an exclusive interview with Sir Richie on “As It Is Ghana” on Rainbow Radio 92.4 FM, UK, Wofa K vehemently denied all accusations and called on the public to disregard them. He challenged Abronye DC to produce any proof, stating, “Abronye DC is making needless noise. I am granting him the opportunity to expose me as he has threatened and stop making the needless noise.”
Agyapong revealed that he had initially planned to take legal action against Abronye DC but was persuaded to drop the case by the party’s immediate past general secretary, John Boadu.
“It is unfortunate that he is making these malicious statements about me,” Agyapong said. “I had taken a decision to take legal action against him, but John Boadu was the one who asked me to forgive and let it go. I have preserved my dignity, and there are no negative reports about me regarding corruption or wrongdoing. I am therefore daring him to come out with any damning allegations or proof about me.”
He also addressed Abronye DC’s claims of sponsoring his travels, confirming that their first meeting was in Sunyani in 2015 during a limited voter registration exercise. He denied that Abronye DC financed their movements in the region.
“Let me disclose this to you, “I had taken all the needed action and hired some of the most competent and powerful lawyers in Ghana to go to court. After discussions, Abronye was asked to retract and apologise on the same platform he used in denigrating me. Later, I spoke with John Boadu, who appealed to me to let it go and consider this a political party matter because we all know that you are a man of integrity. Don’t go to court because it would not be healthy, especially for the NPP party. I was upset and did not like how John Boadu asked me to let it go, but because he was my brother, I had to call off my court action against that noisemaker.”
