NCA and MultiChoice agree to review DSTV pricing in Ghana; license suspension ruled out

The National Communications Authority (NCA) says it has received a response from MultiChoice Ghana regarding its proposed DSTV pricing changes.

It announced that the NCA and MultiChoice have engaged in further discussions following a public statement from MultiChoice on September 5, 2025, denying any agreement to price cuts for DSTV.

According to the NCA, MultiChoice Ghana has committed to cooperating with a Stakeholder Committee, established at the directive of the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations.

The committee’s purpose is to evaluate the DSTV pricing model in Ghana.

The NCA indicated that after the meeting MultiChoice agreed to fully participate in the committee’s work.

It said that MultiChoice had agreed to respect the outcome of the committee’s evaluation and also adhere to the due process and laws of Ghana.

The first meeting of the Stakeholder Committee is scheduled for Monday, September 8, 2025.

The NCA assured that it will provide additional updates as the process unfolds.
