Foreign Affairs Minister Sameul Okudzeto Ablakwa says the overwhelming number of Ghanaians who warmly received and resoundingly endorsed the Foreign Ministry’s decision to honour five distinguished patriots with Diplomatic Passports is a testament to the beneficiaries’ accomplishments.
In a move to bolster Ghana’s cultural and people-to-people diplomacy, Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has awarded diplomatic passports to five prominent Ghanaians.
The recipients include travel vlogger Wode Maya, Grammy-nominated reggae artist Rocky Dawuni, broadcaster Anita Erskine, visual artist Ibrahim Mahama, and entrepreneur Dentaa Amoateng MBE.
Minister Ablakwa announced the initiative on Wednesday, September 17, at the launch of the Diaspora Summit 2025, an event organised by the Office of the President’s Diaspora Affairs office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Minister, in a statement issued on his Facebook page, indicated he has instructed Ghana’s diplomatic missions across 75 countries to extend special privileges and courtesies to Wode Maya, Lady Dentaa Amoateng, Rocky Dawuni, Ibrahim Mahama, and Anita Erskine, who were presented with the diplomatic passports.
He suggested that we have to appreciate every Ghanaian who is doing extraordinary things and not only politicians.
”To build our country, we must value the incredible contributions of all Ghanaians — not only those in active politics. Keep persevering and excelling at what you do, the nation is watching,” he stated.

It is absolutely inspiring and heartwarming to observe how an overwhelming number of Ghanaians have warmly received and resoundingly endorsed the Foreign Ministry’s decision to honour 5 distinguished patriots with Diplomatic Passports.
The general acceptance is a testament of our collective pride in the extraordinary accomplishments of Wode Maya, Lady Dentaa Amoateng, Rocky Dawuni, Ibrahim Mahama and Anita Erskine.
It is worth highlighting that apart from the impressive 42 countries across all continents that holders of Ghana’s Diplomatic Passports can travel to without visas, I have requested all of Ghana’s resident diplomatic missions across 75 countries to extend special privileges and courtesies to our 5 outstanding compatriots anytime they travel to those 75 countries and the additional countries where Ghana has concurrent diplomatic accreditation.
To build our country, we must value the incredible contributions of all Ghanaians — not only those in active politics.
Keep persevering and excelling at what you do, the nation is watching.
Together, we shall make Ghana great and strong.
For God and Country ???????? ????????
