Reinforcement from the Goaso Municipal Fire Station followed, and the combined efforts of the two crews brought the blaze under control at 8:45 a.m. and finally extinguished it at 10:26 a.m.

Speaking in an interview on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, he explained that from preliminary investigations conducted, the fire started in one of the rooms on the first floor of a one-storey dormitory block and spread through six other rooms on the same floor, destroying the roof, ceiling, personal effects, books, beds, and bedding.

According to him, no casualty was recorded.

He indicated that they also discovered that a fire extinguisher exploded during the fire.

When asked what may have caused the fire, he said ‘we cannot state exactly what caused the outbreak. Investigation is underway to determine the actual cause of the fire. A fire extinguisher exploded during the outbreak, but no casualty was recorded,’ he added.
