President John Dramani Mahama has officially sworn in a seven-member Right to Information (RTI) Commission, tasking them with overseeing the effective implementation of the Right to Information Act.
The Commission will be chaired by Dr. James Asante, a seasoned communication consultant and lecturer, with Christina Edmund serving as Vice Chairperson.
The other members of the Commission are Kwablah Woyome, Aba Edusah, Angela Emefa Kpegah, and Chris Dugan.
Shirley Lartey has been appointed as the Executive Secretary and also serves as a member of the Commission.
The newly inaugurated Commission is expected to ensure transparency, accountability, and the public’s access to information in line with the principles of good governance.
