President Mahama appoints Dr. Martin Kolbil Yamborigya Acting GRA Domestic Tax Commissioner

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Dr. Martin Kolbil Yamborigya as the Acting Commissioner of the Domestic Tax Revenue Division (DTRD) of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).

​The appointment is effective Monday, November 17, 2025, and follows the recent retirement of his predecessor, Mr. Edward Apenteng Gyambrah.

​A seasoned tax administrator and public finance expert, Dr. Yamborigya brings over two decades of experience in Ghana’s revenue administration to the role.

Throughout his distinguished career, he has been instrumental in domestic tax policy formulation, compliance management, and revenue mobilisation, contributing significantly to the modernization of the GRA.

​Prior to his current designation, Dr. Yamborigya held several key senior management roles. These included serving as Audit Team Leader for the Tax Audit Unit, Head of Audit at the Legon Medium Taxpayer Office, Head of Post Clearance Audit (DTRD), and Head of Audit for Special Audits (Audit Factory).

​He also served as Acting Assistant Commissioner at the Commissioner DTRD’s Secretariat before advancing to Assistant Commissioner and Head of Tax Audit at the Large Taxpayer Office (LTO).

In this capacity, he notably spearheaded crucial reforms aimed at improving tax compliance, expanding the tax base, and modernizing domestic tax operations.
