Two firefighters with the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) have sustained injuries while responding to a fire outbreak.
The fire gutted a two-storey, eight-room building at Adjiringano near Ability Square.
According to the Service, it received a call at 2132 hours on Friday, November 14, 2025, and the first pump from the Legon Fire Station arrived at 2203 hours.
Reinforcement from the Madina, National Headquarters, and Adenta Fire Stations, together with a private water tanker, ensured a sufficient water supply to fully contain the blaze.
The fire was brought under control at 0016 hours and fully doused at 0108 hours, the GNFS said.
Seven (7) of the eight (8) rooms and their contents on the top floor were burnt, with firefighters successfully salvaging one (1) room.
A statement issued by the GNFS explained that the ground floor rooms and adjoining buildings were salvaged from the fire ruins.
The Service revealed that one of the persons who sustained the injuries was stabbed in the left arm while the other sustained injuries from a falling block that struck his left shoulder.
“Two (2) firefighters sustained injuries (one from a stab wound to the left arm and another from a falling block that struck his left shoulder). Both were treated and discharged from Unity Clinic in Madina. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.”
