The family of FC Viktoria Plzeň forward, Prince Kwabena Adu, has shared their excitement following his debut for the national team in the high-profile international friendly against Japan.
Tee Kwadwo Vincent, the player’s brother, stated that both the family and their home community were thrilled to see Prince Kwabena Adu make his first appearance for the senior squad.
The promising young attacker entered the match in the 56th minute, taking the place of Antoine Semenyo, who served as the team’s captain for the fixture.
Adu’s long-awaited debut comes after months of consistently impressive form in the Czech top-flight league, where his blistering pace, direct attacking approach, and intelligent off-the-ball movement have garnered increasing attention.
Speaking in an interview on Rainbow Sports, Vincent Adu emphasized his brother’s dedication, commitment, and profound passion for representing the nation.
He expressed the family’s hope that Prince Kwabena Adu will secure a permanent position in the national team setup, potentially earning a call-up for the upcoming World Cup. Vincent Adu also noted that his brother’s inclusion will significantly broaden the pool of attacking options available for next year’s major international assignments.
“We are all excited that our brother has joined the national team. The family and entire community are solidly behind him. We will keep praying for him so he would be able to represent Ghana at the World Cup. He is a talented player who is ready to serve his country,” Vincent Adu remarked.
He further revealed that football is a unique and inherent talent within the family, indicating that Prince Kwabena Adu is not the sole professional player among them.
Acknowledging that the player’s performance may have faced some minor challenges, Vincent Adu concluded by expressing optimism that his brother will be afforded the opportunity to start in his next national team fixture.
“I would like to assure Ghanaians that our brother is committed to playing for Ghana. He will do much better. His performance was encouraging, and when he gets the opportunity to play again, he will do much better. So, I want to appeal to Ghanaians to support him. He is talented, and if given more opportunities, he will not disappoint us.”
