The Independent Member of Parliament (MP) for Afram Plains North, Worlase Kpeli, has asserted that his decision to align with the Majority Caucus in Parliament stands as the most gratifying action he has taken during his parliamentary tenure.
He stated that the collaboration has been mutually beneficial and has not presented any operational challenges.
In an interview on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, the lawmaker affirmed that his constituents have already begun to experience significant benefits stemming from his decision to caucus with the majority side.
He clarified that he consistently votes on matters before the House in tandem with the Majority Caucus.
”In Parliament, there are currently only two caucuses in the House: the Majority and Minority Caucuses. Since I belong to the Majority Caucus, anything concerning them affects me as well—their votes, their position on deliberations, and any other parliamentary business.”
MP Kpeli noted that the arrangement has been highly productive for his constituency, particularly in addressing major concerns and developmental needs.
Key projects such as improvements to major roads and related infrastructure have been prioritised for his constituents.
One of the most significant projects being considered is the bridge crossing Kwahu Afram, Adeiso, and adjoining areas, along with the corresponding road network. This project, he noted, is part of the ‘Big Push’ initiative.
Furthermore, the MP mentioned that a separate 10-kilometre access road project is also under consideration. The Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) is also reviewing several other development projects for the constituency.
He concluded by expressing confidence that once the budget is approved and appropriations are completed, these projects will commence. “Whatever the majority MPs are enjoying, I am also enjoying,” he stated.
