Flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party, Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has urged delegates in the Akyem Oda Constituency of the Eastern Region to elect him as the party’s presidential candidate on 31st January 2026 if they truly desire the NPP to secure victory in the 2028 general elections.
Addressing delegates during his campaign tour, Hon. Agyapong disclosed that various groups, including pastors, market men and women, transport operators and business owners, have expressed strong support for his candidature and believe he is the ideal person to lead the party into the future.
The former Assin Central Member of Parliament stated that it was the first time in the history of the NPP that Ghanaians have preferred a candidate to lead the party.
The politician said Ghanaians prefer he is elected by the NPP so they will vote for him come December 7, 2028. He argued that Ghana had experimented with leaders who are communicators, financial experts and economists, yet the economic challenges persist.
Describing himself as a successful business mogul, Mr. Agyapong said given the opportunities, he will transform the country and create better opportunities for the unemployed youth in Ghana.
He further stated that after carefully studying the Akyem enclave, he has observed that the area has strong potential in oil palm cultivation, a sector capable of creating massive employment if given the right investment and attention.
