A group of executive members of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Nanton has petitioned President John Dramani Mahama to remove the District Chief Executive (DCE), Abdul Rahaman Rosina.
They have accused her of incompetence and engaging in acts that undermine the party’s credibility.
Speaking at a press conference in Nanton on Monday, December 1, 2025, Mohammed Sharif, spokesperson for the aggrieved executives, claimed the DCE’s continued stay in office poses a threat to the NDC in the area.
He also accused her of diverting inputs meant for vulnerable farmers under a key government agricultural support programme.
“The government intervention, such as the Savannah Agriculture Value Chain Development Project, is meant to support farmers and reduce poverty. However, we have credible reports that about 600 bags of subsidised fertiliser allocated to the district were diverted and sold to private retailers under the direction of the DCE.
“This act is a betrayal of the trust of our farmers. It is a departure from the NDC’s principles of accountability and an act of corruption that has angered the very people who stood with the party in difficult times,” he added.
