Private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu has been released from the custody of the Office of Special Prosecutor (OSP) after being held for hours.
Mr Kpebu was invited by the OSP on Wednesday, December 3, to respond to allegations he had made about Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng.
Upon arrival, he allegedly clashed with police officers at the gate and was detained before any interrogation could occur. He was subsequently granted bail, with the condition of providing a landed property in his name as security.
However, upon his lawyer’s return, Mr Kpebu’s whereabouts were unknown.
He has since been released and described his detention as unlawful.
According to him, he will continue to push the agenda to have the Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng removed from office over alleged misconduct and abuse of his office.
Mr Kpebu had also accused the office of procedural irregularities and of delegating enquiries to junior officers who report directly to Mr Agyebeng.
He insisted that the Special Prosecutor must go, and he was prepared to gather more evidence to support his case against him.
