The Government of Ghana, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has expressed disappointment against Israel, deploring the ‘inhumane and traumatic’ treatment of Ghanaian travelers, including a parliamentary delegation, at Ben Gurion International Airport.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry on December 10, 2025, Ghanaian citizens have been deliberately targeted since December 7, 2025.
The Ministry alleged that seven Ghanaian travelers, including four members of a parliamentary delegation attending an International Cybersecurity Conference in Tel Aviv, were detained without justifiable cause.
These individuals were only released after over five hours following strenuous diplomatic intervention, and the remaining three travelers were subsequently deported to Ghana.
The Ministry stressed that this action unfairly targeted Ghanaian citizens and violated the cordial relations that have existed between the two nations for over six decades.
Consequently, the Ministry has announced that it will summon officials from the Israeli Embassy in Accra to convey its displeasure and is considering appropriate reciprocal action.
