The parliamentary candidate on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Kpandai constituency, Daniel Nsala Wakpal, has called on constituents to have confidence in him and come out in their numbers on December 30th and vote for change and development in the area.
The candidate claims he has done so much for the constituency even as someone whose party was not in office.
According to him, the Electoral Commission has December 30th for the rerun of the Kpandai election following the Tamale court order; hence, the constituents should do their best in voting massively for him.
He assured that he will push for development in the area, especially now that his government is in office.
The candidate said the people in the area are aware of how he exploits and will appreciate him for that.
“Even in opposition I did a lot for the people of Kpandai. They are aware of what I have done for them, and so I am appealing to them to remember that and vote for me to continue with my good works. I cannot even mention all the things I had done for the people. My opponent was once an opposition MP and also became an MP while his government was in office, but he failed the people. I encourage the people to compare our performances and will discover that I did a lot for the people. His government ruled for eight years, and yet, he could not do anything for the people.”
The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Kpandai is Kerim. Haruna assured the constituents that the election will be held without any violence.
He asked them to ignore those speculating there would be violent attacks in the area.
He said as security heard in the area, efforts would be deployed to prevent those who will come by trouble.
“I am assuring residents of Kpandai that there would be no form of violence. I appeal to the voters to rest assured that the peace we enjoy in Kpandai will not be undermined. So I am appealing to the voters to have confidence in the measures we have put in place to protect everyone. Nobody should panic. Come out in your numbers and vote, and your security will be taken care of.
On his part, the Paramount Chief of Kpandai, NANA BRISTIAM ATORSAH II, called on the parliamentary candidates not to use violence.
“I want to remind the candidates that they should tell their followers not to make any utterances that will bring disturbances. I want to advise the candidates to tell their supporters not to insult one another. I want to tell the candidates not to foment problems. The candidates should try to preach about peace.”
