The Management of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) has announced plans to conduct a mass burial for all unclaimed, unknown, and unidentified bodies currently at the mortuary.
According to the hospital, this exercise aims to decongest the facility. A statement issued by the Management explained that the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital’s mortuary is congested.
The public is hereby informed to claim the bodies of their deceased relatives within 21 days of this notice, prior to January 18, 2026.
After this deadline, any unclaimed bodies will be buried in accordance with approved procedures and relevant regulations.
The Hospital’s records indicate that approximately 320 unclaimed bodies will be included in the mass burial, which will be conducted in collaboration with the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA).
