The campaign team of Kennedy Agyapong has denied recent media reports regarding comments he allegedly made about Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, his closest contender.
Dr. Palgrave Boakye Danquah, a key member of the campaign team, has urged the public to disregard such reports.
The Bawumia campaign team had demanded an apology from Kennedy Agyapong for a false statement attributed to Dr. Bawumia, where Agyapong allegedly accused the former Vice President of lying about the health status of Albert Adu Boahen and a purported decision not to participate in the 1996 NPP primaries.
The team claimed Agyapong’s actions unfairly branded Dr. Bawumia as a liar unfit for leadership.
A statement purportedly issued by Kennedy Agyapong’s campaign team, apologising to Dr. Bawumia, circulated on social media.
However, Dr. Palgrave Boakye Danquah asserts that the statement is unauthentic.
In an interview on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Dr. Boakye Danquah emphasised that the story published by The Daily Guide indicating Agyapong’s apology is false, stating ‘Kennedy Agyapong has not apologised. This is fake news. Treat it with contempt because it is a fabricated story’.
