The former vice president secured a decisive victory with 110,643 votes, representing 56.48 per cent, positioning him to lead the party into the next general elections.

Kennedy Agyapong placed second with 46,554 votes, representing 23.76 per cent, while Dr Bryan Acheampong came third with 36,303 votes, representing 18.53 per cent.

They were followed by Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum in fourth place with 1,999 votes, representing 1.02 per cent, and Kwabena Agyei Agyepong in fifth place, polling 402 votes, representing 0.21 per cent.

The primary saw participation from over 211,000 delegates across the country, who cast their votes at 333 polling centres spanning all 275 constituencies.

In a statement, Hon. Asiedu commended the other aspirants for a spirited campaign and urged party members to put aside their differences and work towards winning the 2028 general elections.

“We cannot afford to be disintegrated. For together we stand, divided we fall,” he emphasised.

The MP stressed the need for the party to rebuild, reconnect with the grassroots, and recapture power, with the ultimate goal of delivering development and freedom to the people.

Protozoa’s statement reads: “Fellow distinguished delegates… let us unite behind H.E. Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and the leadership of our great party. Our singular goal is to win the upcoming 2028 general elections… together we shall channel our energies towards our common goals of giving development in freedom to our people.”
