Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG) has called on Ghanaians in the diaspora to take full advantage of its specialised Diaspora Banking Services, which are designed to bridge the financial gap between those living abroad and their home country.
Nana Adwoa Oteng-Yeboah, Manager of CBG Diaspora Banking, highlighted that the bank offers customised solutions specifically for Ghanaians overseas.
These services feature remote account opening for savings, foreign currency, and investment accounts, alongside digital banking and seamless money transfers. Key offerings also include cash-backed loans, international card options, and various investment opportunities to support family needs or business ventures back home in Ghana.

According to Ms Oteng-Yeboah, physical presence in Ghana is no longer a requirement for banking.
Through the bank’s self-service initiative, accounts can be opened from anywhere in the world.
She noted that CBG Diaspora Banking is a strategic business unit dedicated to serving Ghanaians living abroad, including second and third generations, as well as individuals of African descent.

These remarks were made during a visit by top CBG executives to Rainbow Radio in celebration of World Radio Day.
The visit served to commend the station for its sterling work and its extensive coverage reaching the diaspora community.
The bank recognises the unique financial needs of the diaspora and, through these specialised services, provides expert advisory and customised solutions to help clients manage, grow, and invest their wealth securely in Ghana.
Ms Oteng-Yeboah stated that the mission is to connect Diasporans to home with secure, accessible, and innovative financial services, regardless of where they are in the world.
The suite of transactional services offered through CBG Diaspora Banking includes the Priority Plus Account, Personal Current Account, Personal Savings Account, Personal Foreign Exchange Account (FEA), Personal Foreign Currency Account (FCA), and the Personal Fuse Account.

For investment management, the bank offers fixed deposit investments, platinum investment savings accounts, and cash-backed loans.
The Priority Plus Account provides premium benefits, including dedicated relationship management and priority lounge access, requiring a minimum opening deposit of GHS 1,000 and a monthly fee of GHS 90.
The bank’s foreign exchange and foreign currency accounts facilitate the seamless management of USD, GBP, and EUR, distinguishing between locally sourced funds and international remittances, while the 1st Account serves as a trust-based savings vehicle for minors under 18, while the standard Personal Savings Account offers a fee-free alternative for standard deposits with competitive interest rates.

Nana Adwoa Oteng-Yeboah emphasised the ease of the process by stating, “You don’t need to come to Ghana to open an account. You only need the link; click on it through the self-service portal, then we review it, and after that, you get your account number instantly through your email. The account holder is able to monitor the account while still abroad and track its progress. This is a seamless process, and we encourage our brothers and sisters abroad to take advantage of it. We understand banking, and, for that reason, we have tailored these services for those abroad.”
Felix Afriyie Yeboah, Manager of Bancassurance, also lauded the impact of the media, especially in the Diaspora.
“As we celebrate World Radio Day, we are here to recognise Rainbow Radio for its contribution in disseminating information from Ghana to our citizens abroad. We appreciate your efforts and are here to honour you and to ask you to continue with the good work you are doing. We believe you are doing well.”

He further highlighted the security of these specialised services, saying, “The services we provide are secure, safe, and accessible for the account holders at any time. You are assured of financial security. There are several banks in the country offering banking services, but we have moved beyond because we know that our brothers and sisters abroad take care of their relatives back home. We have read stories of Ghanaians abroad who send money back home for projects, but their relatives don’t develop these projects. However, this service offers that security and safety for our citizens abroad.”
The host, Kwabena Agyapong, expressed gratitude on behalf of the station, commending the bank for its recognition and affirming that Rainbow Radio and CBG will continue to collaborate on future projects.
