Leadership of the Majority Caucus in Parliament has, as a sign of support, donated their March salaries to the Ghana Sports Fund.

The leadership of the Majority made this kind gesture following the announcement by the Minister of Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams, that he will donate two months of his salary to the Ghana Sports Fund effective February 2026.

The Minister of Sports made this disclosure when he appeared before the House to make a statement on the Ghana Sports Fund on Thursday, February 19, 2026.

The minister also announced that the National Investment Bank has demonstrated leadership with a donation of 100,000 Ghana Cedis to the Fund.

“I will donate two months of my salary to the Ghana Sports Fund effective February 2026,” Mr Adams said.

“If we expect the private sector to invest, if we expect (sports) federations to reform, if we expect young athletes to commit, then leadership must also commit.”

He made the House aware that the Ghana Sports Fund has been designed as a structure for transparency and an accountable framework to support infrastructure development, school and grassroots sports, elite athlete preparation, welfare systems and recreation.
