A church building has collapsed in Accra Newtown, resulting in multiple worshippers being trapped under the debris.
The incident took place on Sunday, March 29, at approximately 1:00 p.m., necessitating an immediate rescue operation.

According to emerging details, the structure collapsed while occupants were inside.
Rescue operations are presently underway, involving emergency responders and local community members working in tandem to rescue survivors from the rubble.

Meanwhile, the Ghana National Fire Service has reacted to the incident.
The Service in a Facebook post stated that “A building collapse, believed to be a church, has been reported at Accra Newtown near GCB Bank.

Rescuers from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) National Headquarters are currently on scene conducting search and rescue operations to save trapped persons.”
It added that “Further updates will be provided”.
