President John Dramani Mahama and President of Zimbabwe, H.E. Emmerson Mnangagwa have reaffirmed their shared commitment to deepening bilateral relations following the signing of multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) across strategic sectors.

The two countries also adopted the agreed minutes of the inaugural session of the Ghana-Zimbabwe Permanent Joint Commission for Cooperation (PJCC), alongside private sector partnerships aimed at strengthening economic collaboration.

Speaking at the close of bilateral discussions, President Mahama described the visit as productive, forward-looking, and a reaffirmation of the long-standing bonds of friendship, solidarity, and shared history between Ghana and Zimbabwe.

He noted that the engagements have provided a clear roadmap, renewed political will, and fresh momentum to elevate cooperation to a higher strategic level.

President Mahama emphasised that both countries are committed to translating policy intentions into practical outcomes through expanded trade, targeted investments, and increased private sector participation.

He further highlighted the importance of strengthening institutional mechanisms, particularly the PJCC, to ensure effective implementation and sustained engagement.

On continental and global issues, President Mahama reaffirmed a shared commitment to Pan-Africanism, African solidarity, and coordinated engagement within the African Union and the United Nations, stressing the need to advance common positions and safeguard shared interests in an evolving global landscape.

President Mnangagwa, in his closing remarks, underscored the historic and fraternal ties between the two nations, noting that the State Visit has elevated bilateral relations to a higher strategic level. He commended the constructive and forward-looking engagements held over the course of the visit and called for a decisive shift from dialogue to implementation.

He urged ministers and officials to ensure the swift operationalisation of all agreements, emphasising that the true value of the MoUs lies in their tangible impact on the lives of citizens.

He further highlighted the importance of private sector collaboration and acknowledged the role of institutions such as the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) and ZimTrade in advancing business-to-business engagement.
