President John Dramani Mahama has nominated Diana Asokatrie Ayamga to serve as the District Chief Executive for the Bongo District in the Upper East Region.
This nomination, which was made in accordance with Article 243(1) of the 1992 Constitution and the Local Governance Act, now awaits formal approval by the members of the Bongo District Assembly.
The announcement was detailed in a statement issued by the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development on 7 April 2026.
Within the official release, Minister Ahmed Ibrahim emphasised that this appointment aligns with the government’s ongoing commitment to strengthening local governance and accelerating development at the district level.
