The station received a distress call reporting the incident at approximately 10:28 p.m., prompting the immediate dispatch of fire officers who arrived at the scene by 10:49 p.m.

Preliminary enquiries suggest that the minibus, carrying the registration number GR 5660-18, was involved in a severe collision which left the vehicle completely written off.

The Ghana National Fire Service confirmed that seven individuals lost their lives in the tragedy.

Upon arrival, firefighters secured the area and carried out operations to neutralise any further hazards.

They were joined in the rescue effort by personnel from the Mpraeso Fire Station, while officers from the Motor Traffic and Transport Department and the Ambulance Service assisted with recovery efforts and traffic management.

The cause of the accident is currently being investigated.
