Nana Bonsu described the news as worrying, and the suspect must be investigated and dealt with without any mercy.

Police Inspector Interdicted Over Alleged Defilement and Incest

He said after reading about the Jews, he became furious, especially when a police officer who is supposed to preserve the law is the one who has breached it.

Appearing on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, he indicated that it is purely stupidity for a father to defile his biological daughter.

Nana Bonsu suggested that the police officer be given severe punishment.

“This is purely wickedness. How can a sane human being, a police officer, defile his own daughter? Such a person deserves to serve life imprisonment. A police officer who has defiled her daughter is nothing but evil.

Was he noted as hearing the pain the daughter was going through? This man must serve life imprisonment for what he has done.”

The Ashanti North Regional Police Command has interdicted Inspector Desmond Owusu Afriyie of the Mamponteng District following allegations of defilement and incest involving his 14-year-old daughter. The investigation began after the victim’s mother, Charlotte Samaa, filed a formal complaint in Koforidua on November 4, 2025.

Following the report, the teenager underwent a medical examination at a government facility to secure clinical evidence.

Inspector Afriyie surrendered to the Agona Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) on February 20, 2026. Despite denying the allegations during interrogation, he was arrested and later released on inquiry bail.

The Regional Command subsequently interdicted the officer to ensure an impartial investigation and prevent interference with the case. Acting Public Relations Officer ASP Emmanuel Agbodzi stated that the police remain committed to a transparent process and will provide updates as legal proceedings advance.
