His Worship Cephas Atidzoe Esq., presiding over the Twifo Praso District Magistrate Court in the Central Region’s Twifo Atti-Morkwa District, has sentenced four educators for examination malpractice during the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

The convicts—Mr David Kwabena Mensah, Mrs Ruth Ampah, Mrs Millicent Marfo, and Mr Kennedy Anokye—were each ordered to pay a fine of GH¢3,000 or serve a one-year prison sentence following their guilty pleas.

The prosecution established that 38-year-old David Kwabena Mensah violated Section 4(b) of the West African Examinations Council Act, 2006, by using a mobile phone to photograph and distribute examination questions via WhatsApp.

Furthermore, Mrs Millicent Marfo and Mr Kennedy Anokye were found guilty of conspiring to possess examination materials unlawfully at the Twifo Praso Senior High School centre, contrary to Section 23 of the Criminal Offences Act and Section 3 of the West African Examinations Council Act.
