Florence Agyemang has made history by winning Ghana’s first medal in the women’s 400m star at the ongoing African Senior Athletics Championships in Accra.
The young sprinter delivered an outstanding performance in front of the home crowd, clinching bronze in the women’s 400m final with a personal best time of 51.87 seconds.
Florence’s efforts to secure a medal sparked wild celebrations at the stadium as Team Ghana secured its first medal of the championship on home soil.
Florence Agyemang’s achievement has boosted the morale of the other athletes to clinch more medals that will follow in the remaining events.
The African Senior Athletics Championships is currently taking place at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in Accra from May 12 to May 17.
