Former Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has acknowledged the unique challenges facing the Black Stars’ new head coach, Carlos Queiroz.

Given the timing of the appointment, Agyemang-Badu believes that implementing a complete tactical philosophy on short notice is a daunting task.

Instead, the former international maintains that the coach’s ultimate success will rely on his man-management skills and his ability to effectively command a high-profile squad like Ghana.

Commending the progress made so far, Agyemang-Badu praised the manager for restoring discipline to the camp, boosting player confidence, and establishing firm authority.

He also advised the head coach to maintain unwavering trust in his selected players to extract their absolute best performances on the pitch.

Speaking on Rainbow Sports, he noted that based on recent interactions, camp morale remains high and the atmosphere is strong.

He urged the coach to ensure the players find joy in their football while maintaining this positive momentum.

“The team is getting better and they will be ready for the tournament. The coach cannot inject his philosophy too much into the team because of timing. So what is going to help him will be his managerial skills, the experience he wields in football, and how to control a team such as Ghana. When you evaluate the team as an experienced person based on the videos we have watched, or the bonding in camp, that is the kind of managerial skill we need for the team.

His game plan is not too much about attacking, even as much as he sometimes wants to go all out. But his managerial skills have so far been good. He is using his experience to support the team. Discipline has returned to the team. Confidence has returned also, and the coach seems to have control over the team. He should bring the best out of the players, release stress and tension from them, and get them to perform at their best on the field of play,” he added.
