The family of former Tema West opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) women’s organizer, Paulina Lamisi Akampodipo, has joined forces with local party executives to demand an intensified investigation into her disappearance, which occurred nearly two years ago.

Madam Akampodipo vanished without a trace on June 12, 2024. Despite initial search efforts by relatives, political colleagues, and law enforcement, her whereabouts remain a mystery.

Speaking at a press conference in Tema West, family spokesperson Paul Anamde detailed the severe emotional toll the unresolved case has taken on the family.

He highlighted the distress of Akampodipo’s daughter, who continues to cope with the trauma of her mother’s sudden absence.

Anamde appealed directly to President John Dramani Mahama to intervene, urging him to elevate the case to a matter of national priority in hopes that a renewed inquiry might yield answers.

Tema West Member of Parliament, James Enu, criticized the sluggish pace of the ongoing police investigation and the lack of transparency with both the public and the grieving family.

The lawmaker publicly called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to personally oversee the case and allocate top-tier investigative resources to break the logjam.

Echoing these demands, the Acting Tema West NDC Women Organizer, Victoria Everlove Yankson, alongside other constituency executives, pressed state authorities and national party leaders for immediate action.

The leadership warned that bubbling frustration among grassroots supporters and sympathizers could boil over if the police fail to provide a substantive update on the investigation soon.
