Community Police Assistant injured in Ajumako Bisease knife attack

A community police assistant was hospitalized yesterday evening after being stabbed while attempting to arrest a wanted suspect.

The officer, identified as Yaw, intervened in a commotion involving the suspect and another community member.

According to Uncle Benn, a leader of the Guardian Angels of Ajumako Bisease who witnessed the incident, the suspect pulled a knife from his pocket and stabbed Officer Yaw as the officer attempted to take him into custody.

The suspect, who was already wanted by the Ajumako Bisease police, fled the scene immediately after the assault. Officer Yaw was rushed to the Ajumako Bisease hospital, where he is currently recovering from his injuries.

Following the incident, community leaders urged residents to remain united.

A police search for the suspect remains ongoing.
