NADMO Ghana Relaunches National Platform for Disaster and Climate Resilience

The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has relaunched the National Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Change Risk Management (CCRM) to strengthen national resilience.

The Director General of NADMO, Major Dr. Joseph Bikanyi Kuyon, described the initiative as a major step toward enhancing Ghana’s preparedness and response to emerging climate-related risks.

He noted that the platform will serve as a vital mechanism for experts, policymakers, and development partners to share knowledge, coordinate interventions, and develop strategic actions across the country.

The event featured presentations on the roles of the National Platform, DRR/CCRM, and early warning systems to enhance stakeholder engagement.

On his part, the Deputy Director General in charge of Sustainable Livelihood and Community Empowerment, Hon. Albert Alalzuuga Akuka, urged stakeholders to remain actively engaged.

He expressed confidence that sustained cooperation and commitment would ensure the platform’s success and advance Ghana’s risk reduction agenda.
