Following over six weeks in custody since his May 7, 2026 arrest, digital creator and Shatta Movement loyalist Abdul Gafaru Sani, popularly known as WebkidAfrika, has been granted a GH¢100,000 bail by an Accra High Court.
The Tema-based salesman faces prosecution over allegations of defaming dancehall artist Stonebwoy and threatening his family’s safety through malicious social media posts.
Despite previous assertions from Stonebwoy’s public relations team that the musician was uninvolved in the state’s legal action, official charge sheets name the artist as the primary complainant.
Sani’s legal troubles have escalated to six charges under the Electronic Communications Act and the Criminal Offences Act, stemming from a coordinated smear campaign allegedly orchestrated alongside a disgruntled former administrator of Stonebwoy’s YouTube channel.
Investigators state the online attacks began after internal disputes arose in late 2025, leading to targeted digital harassment.
Sani’s release follows multiple denied bail applications and a recent postponement caused by the absence of the presiding judge.
