Former NDC Deputy General Secretary Kwaku Anyidoho has thrown his full weight behind National Chairman Asiedu Nketia’s current tour, stating, “I 100 percent support Chairman Asiedu Nketia’s Nation-Wide Thank you Tour to NDC people.”
Koku Anyidoho believes every party member should welcome this initiative since the NDC serves as the bedrock for the Mahama administration.
He pointed out that after securing power, the administration neglected its regional base across the 16 regions. Anyidoho stressed that the state and the party operate as separate structures, where the president directs the government while the chairman and general secretary lead the party.
Consequently, he maintains that the chairman’s actions are beyond reproach.
He asserts that Asiedu Nketia is acting in the party’s best interest and deserves governmental backing rather than opposition.
Despite holding personal grievances against the National Chairman, Anyidoho highly commends his current leadership efforts.
He concludes that the NDC’s defeat in the 2016 elections stemmed directly from the government alienating the party’s grassroots, insisting that the party must avoid repeating this historical error.
