The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has directed its National Disciplinary Committee to investigate former presidential aspirant and Assin Central stalwart, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong.

The move follows several petitions lodged against him by various individuals, including MPs from the Minority caucus on Parliament’s Health Committee.

The petitioners are seeking sanctions against Mr Agyapong for conduct they have categorised as anti-party behaviour.

The party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) and National Council reached the decision during a meeting on Thursday, June 25.

The disciplinary panel has been given a fortnight to look into the grievances and present its recommendations.

The development was confirmed by the NPP’s National Organiser, Henry Nana Boakye, widely known as Nana B.

Speaking during a media interview, he disclosed that the party’s highest decision-making bodies had unanimously agreed to pass all petitions regarding Mr Agyapong to the disciplinary committee for evaluation.

“The decision was that all of these petitions must be referred to the National Disciplinary Committee,” he revealed.

“Let’s manage for the next two weeks, and when we receive the report and a decision is made, it will be communicated appropriately,” Mr Boakye added.
