The leader and founder of Yehowa Beye Prayer Ministry, Prophet Nana Yaw Osei Tutu, has claimed that former Assin Central MP and presidential hopeful Kennedy Agyapong still has a path to the presidency—but only if he quits the opposition party.

Prophet Osei Tutu, popularly known as Prophet 99, stated that the businessman-politician’s ambition comes with strict conditions.

According to the prophet, Mr Agyapong—who lost the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primary to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia—must break away from the NPP and establish his own political movement.

However, the cleric was quick to rule out any immediate success, asserting that Mr Agyapong has no chance of winning the 2028 general election. Instead, he tipped him for victory in 2032.

Prophet 99 insisted that the NPP would never select Mr Agyapong as its flagbearer, even after a projected defeat for Dr Bawumia in 2028.

He alleged that the party’s leadership had already resolved never to hand him the presidential ticket.

Speaking in an interview on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, the prophet said: “The best move for Kennedy Agyapong is to leave the NPP and establish his own party. But he must understand that winning the 2028 election is out of the question. 2032, however, is a settled matter—he will win it hands down, regardless of who the NDC and NPP put forward. Ghanaians want Kennedy Agyapong because they value his personal honesty.”

The prophet further claimed that the NPP’s hierarchy already has another candidate lined up for the post-Bawumia era.

He tipped former Agriculture Minister Bryan Acheampong as the next in line for the party’s leadership.

“The NPP has no interest in making him their presidential candidate,” Prophet 99 added. “Bryan Acheampong will be the next candidate chosen after Bawumia’s defeat in 2028.

“Kennedy should not be deceived into thinking the NPP will ever elect him. He should step aside, form a new party, and he will be handed the presidency in 2032 to serve for two terms. That is the true destiny of Kennedy Agyapong.”
