Six people have been arrested and several shops shut down in a major sanitation crackdown by authorities in Kumasi.

The enforcement operation, led by Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) sanitation officers and backed by military personnel, targeted environmental health violations in the Dichemso Electoral Area.

The suspects are expected to face court prosecution for breaching local sanitation regulations.

Meanwhile, the affected shops were ordered to close immediately after inspectors discovered they were operating under highly insanitary conditions.

KMA officials stated the sweeps are part of an ongoing, intensified effort to enforce strict compliance with public health laws across the metropolis.
