Adenta: GNFS retrieves body of drowned 11-year-old boy

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has recovered the body of an 11-year-old boy who drowned at Adenta Aviation in the Greater Accra Region.

The victim, identified as Samuel Awalime, reportedly drowned on Monday, 13 July 2026, prompting an immediate emergency response from local authorities.

Personnel from the Adenta Fire Station, led by Divisional Officer Grade Three (DO III) Obosu, arrived swiftly at the scene to initiate a rescue mission.

The firefighters, in partnership with other emergency agencies on the ground, launched a coordinated search and recovery operation.

Following several hours of intensive searching through the waters, the recovery team successfully retrieved the lifeless body of the young boy.

The remains have since been handed over to the Adenta Police Division for preservation and further investigation to establish the exact circumstances leading to the tragedy.
