A 45-year-old farmer has died after sustaining a fatal gunshot wound to the chest at his residence in the Tewia community, located in the Atiwa East District.
The deceased, identified as Anuma Samuel, who was popularly known in the community as Degue, was married with seven children.
The tragic incident occurred on Wednesday morning following a brief domestic disagreement.
According to the wife of the deceased, Madam Adobea Jennette, the confrontation began when their youngest child requested money from his father to attend school.
Madam Jennette explained that her husband refused to provide the funds, which quickly escalated into a dispute and ultimately led to the fatal shooting.
The local police have since been notified of the incident and have commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death.
The body of the deceased has been retrieved and deposited at the morgue for preservation and an autopsy.
Meanwhile, police authorities are yet to release further details on the matter as investigations continue.
