The Gbese District Court has ordered the extradition of Daniel Yusif, an alleged co-conspirator of Ghanaian social media personality Abu Trica, to the United States to face trial over his alleged involvement in an $8 million romance fraud and money laundering scheme.
The decision follows months after Abu Trica was extradited to the US to answer to charges connected to the same alleged transnational fraud network.
State prosecutors informed the court that the syndicate relied on fake online personas to deceive unsuspecting victims out of millions of dollars.
Presiding over the case, the court issued the committal order directing that the suspect be handed over to American authorities to face justice.
However, Yusif retains a 15-day window to appeal against the committal order before his extradition process to the United States can be finalized.
