Man hospitalised after motorcycle key lodges in skull during okada riders’ brawl in Jasikan

A man is currently receiving specialist medical treatment at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital after a motorcycle key became embedded in his skull during a violent altercation between two commercial motorcycle riders, popularly known as Okada riders, at Jasikan on Wednesday.

The victim met with the tragic incident while acting as a good Samaritan.

According to local reports, he had stepped in to separate the two riders who were engaged in a heated scuffle, allegedly over a single passenger.

In the ensuing chaos, one of the key ignition sets was thrust into the victim’s head, inflicting a severe injury.

Bystanders quickly rushed the injured man to a local health facility in the area for emergency care.

However, due to the critical nature of the trauma and the delicate location of the object, medical staff promptly referred him to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, where specialists are currently working to safely manage his condition.

Local authorities have since been alerted to the incident, and investigations are ongoing to apprehend the persons involved in the brawl.
