Traditional music icon King Ayisoba has opened up about the initial misunderstandings surrounding his hit track, “I Want To Sue You My Father,” revealing how listeners originally misconstrued its core message.

Recounting the experience, the musician disclosed that angry listeners called in to insult him during a radio show because they failed to grasp the song’s intent at the time.

He explained that the track was composed to preach against irresponsible fatherhood and highlight the urgent need for parents to cater to their children’s needs.

Speaking in an interview on the Mid-Morning Drive on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, the singer noted that despite the early backlash, the public eventually embraced the track after realising its deep societal value.

He highlighted that the song has made a profound impact, particularly on fathers in Bolgatanga, where it helped shift local mindsets and encouraged men to step up to their parental duties.

King Ayisoba reaffirmed his commitment to crafting music that inspires positive change, transforms character, and leaves a lasting impact on society.

“When my song first came out, some people misunderstood it. A listener even called the radio station to insult me because of the song I played. But after listening carefully, they realised it was not a bad song; it was a message reminding people to go back and fix what they lost. In Bolgatanga, many people left their children without proper care, but my music has helped change that narrative by encouraging parents to take responsibility,” King Ayisoba stated.
