A national organiser aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Kwadwo Agyei Yeboah, popularly known as Nana Kay, has officially launched his campaign, unveiling a comprehensive five-pillar plan designed to revamp the party’s organizational machinery ahead of the crucial 2028 general elections.
Speaking during a meet-the-press session in Accra, Nana Kay emphasized that the upcoming 2028 election remains a crucial milestone for the NPP and its flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia. He stressed that achieving victory will require a dynamic, humble, and grassroots-centered approach to party organization.
Outlining his strategic blueprint, the national organiser hopeful announced “Operation Recover All Lost Votes,” pledging to establish clear structures grounded in humility and sincerity to reach every voter.
He assured party members that he will not operate as a headquarters-bound executive, but will instead be actively present across all 276 constituencies to strengthen the party directly from the base.
Central to his operational platform is a deliberate drive to rebuild trust within the party ranks by re-engaging dissatisfied members and bringing those who felt alienated back into the fold. Nana Kay noted that restoring confidence among the party faithful is non-negotiable for future success.
Addressing the welfare of grassroots operatives, Nana Kay questioned why dedicated foot soldiers who work tirelessly day and night are often neglected after elections.
He vowed to bring an end to the long-standing “use and dump” culture, assuring party workers that under his leadership, those who labour for the party will rightfully benefit, invoking the popular Akan expression “De3 obre na odi”.
On election day vigilance, Nana Kay committed to protecting every single vote through rigorous capacity building. He promised to continuously train and retrain polling station executives while recruiting and deploying standby volunteers to monitor polling agents and serve as reliable backup teams on election day.
Turning his focus to national affairs, Nana Kay expressed disappointment in the governance of President John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC). He asserted that Ghanaians are dissatisfied with the current administration, accusing it of failing to deliver on its promised 24-hour economy policy and showing weakness in the fight against illegal mining.
He further criticized the government for selective prosecution targeting opposition figures while shielding wrongdoers within its own ranks, alongside the detention of government critics.
Lending his support to the campaign, former NPP Communications Director Mr Yaw Adomako Baafi endorsed Nana Kay’s bid, calling on party delegates nationwide to vote massively for him to deliver the required organizational strength for the party.
Having served the NPP in various mobilization roles over the years, Nana Kay has built a reputation as a hands-on party loyalist. Supporters at the event expressed confidence in his candidacy, describing him as an accessible leader whose long-standing service uniquely positions him to bridge the gap between national executive leadership and the grassroots.
His campaign team indicated that Nana Kay will begin a regional tour in the coming weeks to interact directly with delegates and present his strategy for revitalising the party’s organisational machinery.
