The accident occurred when a four-door passenger sedan, bearing registration number AD 5474-26, rammed into a crowd of local residents.

The immediate impact of the crash claimed the life of a young woman instantly, leaving her severely disfigured with her limbs severed.

Eyewitnesses reporting to Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM last week revealed that the vehicle suffered a sudden brake failure whilst travelling at high speed.

The driver reportedly ploughed into five individuals coming from Busia before crashing into a popular spot where local youth routinely gather to watch Premier League football matches.

Recounting the horrifying ordeal, an eyewitness named Nii Odoi Sackeyfio, popularly known as Sandee, stated that the driver was heard desperately shouting, “Jesus! My brakes have failed me! Jesus, my brakes!” moments before the collision.

Outraged residents managed to apprehend the driver at the scene and promptly handed him over to the police.

Several other victims who suffered varying degrees of injury remain under medical care.

The tragedy has cast a heavy shadow over the community, with shocked locals describing the incident as an unprecedented bad omen, particularly as preparations were underway for the annual Homowo Festival.
