President John Dramani Mahama has approved a series of new appointments and reassignments within the National Security Council Secretariat as part of an ongoing restructuring of the nation’s security architecture.
The changes, which take immediate effect, were formally announced in an official statement issued by Government Communications Minister and Spokesperson to the President, Felix Kwakye Ofosu.
Under the new directives, former Chief of Army Staff, Major General William Ayamdo (Rtd.), has been appointed as the Deputy National Security Coordinator in charge of Operations.
In another key deployment, former National Security Coordinator, Mr. Yaw Donkor, takes over as the Director of Intelligence and Research at the Office of the National Security Advisor.
The restructuring also sees Mr. Adamu Saaka assuming the role of Director of Logistics and Transport, while Ms. Faustina Effah-Boadi has been named Officer in Charge of the Human Security Department.
Additionally, retired Assistant Commissioner of Police, DCOP Peter Ndekugri (Rtd.), has been assigned to lead the Special Investigations Unit as Officer in Charge.
Meanwhile, ACP Alhassan Osman has been reassigned to the Ghana Police Service for further deployment.
According to the presidency, all appointments and reassignments are to take immediate effect to ensure a seamless transition and continuous operational efficiency.
