President John Dramani Mahama has disclosed a government directive to finish 30 deserted E-block educational facilities across Ghana to boost secondary education infrastructure and widen access.

Speaking at Paga in the Upper East Region on Thursday, August 13, during his nationwide public engagement tour, the President indicated that funds have been allocated within the 2026 national budget to execute the projects.

He underscored the importance of completing state-funded initiatives, asserting that neglecting public infrastructure amounts to financial loss.

“Any project into which government has sunk money already, if you don’t finish it, it is a waste of the taxpayers’ money,” he stated.

Highlighting the Paga Senior High School as one of the rescued facilities, President Mahama noted that the campus has been transformed into a modern learning centre. He observed that students had been managing with partial structures under severe constraints, but can now benefit from an upgraded academic setting.

“This school is one of them. We finished it. The children were using part of the facility in very, very terrible conditions. Today they have a very beautiful brand-new school which will improve their learning and outcome,” the President added.

To ensure full operational capacity, President Mahama instructed the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) to expedite the delivery of essential furniture and equipment to the facility. He reiterated that completing these 30 stalled E-blocks reflects a firm commitment to maximising past public investments for national development.
