The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has scheduled Saturday, October 3, 2026, for its National Executive Elections, setting nomination fees between GH¢8,000 for special wings and GH¢50,000 for the national chairmanship position.

Announcing the timetable at a press conference, the Chairman of the National Election Committee, Hon. Aspirants will subsequently file their completed nomination forms between August 23 and August 27.

Under the timetable released by the committee, the vetting of aspirants will take place from September 1 to September 3, followed by the publication of vetting results on September 5. The committee will receive appeals on September 6 and September 7, ahead of a meeting of the National Executive Committee and the National Council on September 10 to approve qualified aspirants.

According to the committee, candidates contesting the National Chairman position will pay a nomination fee of GH¢50,000, while those eyeing Vice Chairmanship positions are required to pay GH¢30,000. Aspirants for the General Secretary post will pay GH¢25,000, and nomination fees for all other national positions have been fixed at GH¢10,000. Candidates competing for positions in the special wings—comprising the Nasara, Women, and Youth wings—will pay GH¢8,000.

The former Suhum Member of Parliament assured all aspirants that the upcoming polls will be conducted in a free, fair, and transparent manner under the supervision of the Electoral Commission of Ghana, supported by the NPP’s internal elections committee.

Hon. Opare Ansah noted that the outcome of the national elections will ultimately determine whether the party is fully prepared for the 2028 general elections.
