She therefore urged them to be visible and effective advocates for Ghana’s interests, deliberately pursuing opportunities in trade, investment, technology, education and other areas that advance our national development.

Addressing the diplomatic representatives, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang stressed the importance of prioritizing the welfare of the diaspora.

She reminded them that their responsibility extends to Ghanaians living within their respective jurisdictions, emphasizing that our citizens abroad must be treated with dignity, engaged consistently, and assured that their country and its missions remain available to support them.

The envoys, who have been assigned to key diplomatic missions in Kuwait, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Niger and Norway, were tasked with strengthening bilateral ties.

She urged the envoys to build on Ghana’s existing relationships, deepen bilateral cooperation and pursue new opportunities to advance our national interests and deliver tangible benefits for our people.

Reassuring the diplomats of official backing, she noted that government will provide the necessary support for our envoys to succeed. She urged them to remain guided by the performance standards and KPIs introduced by the President and to approach their assignments with professionalism, integrity and a clear sense of purpose.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang extended her warm felicitations to the diplomats, stating, “I congratulate them on their appointments and wish them successful tenures that deepen Ghana’s international partnerships and create meaningful opportunities for our people.”
