A 35-year-old unemployed man has been sentenced to four weeks in prison by the Lower Manya Krobo Circuit Court after being found guilty of stealing a bunch of plantain valued at GH¢200.
The convict, Anani Bakar, was arrested on August 16, 2026, at a farm in Nuaso Newtown, located in the Eastern Region.
Local authorities apprehended Bakar following repeated complaints regarding a series of crop thefts from the farmer’s property.
He was subsequently charged and presented before the court, where the judge handed down the one-month prison term for the offense.
